Respect

A beautiful Black woman

“My wife and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary today. So, I think that it is safe to say that I have a little experience on the subject of interracial relationships and marriage. Respect is the foundation of any successful marriage. Romance cannot sustain any union…Ladies, only join with a partner who respects you and wants to share with you, not just take from you. A husband will cherish, protect, and support his wife if he respects her. He will be faithful and patient if he respects her.”

Assumptions

A beautiful Black woman

“All I have to say about this issue is that a lot of people out there are behind the times. Many non-Black women have assumed (consciously or not) that Black women are at the bottom of the pecking order when it comes to dating. This is a silly assumption. Because of this assumption, non-Black women are surprised when a non-Black (White, Asian, Hispanic) guy shows a strong interest in Black women. The fact is that these non-Black men who date Black women know something (and have known it for a long time) and that the rest of the world is slowly starting to realize and that is that Black women, far from being the bottom of the barrel are actually the cream of the crop. I speak from experience when I say this.”
